Locations

A single location

Every field on a location, and what shoppers see.

One page holds everything about a place. Only Store name and the address are required; every other section is something you can offer shoppers or leave out.

The buttons at the top decide whether shoppers see it at all. Save and publish makes it live; Save as draft keeps it hidden. On a location that is already live those read Save and Unpublish, and a badge beside the name says which it is. See Managing locations.

Store name

What shoppers see on the map and in the results.

Saved locations also show a Store ID, with a button to copy it. That is the number to use when you want to refer to this exact location — in an import spreadsheet, or a support question.

Address

Start typing in Address and pick a real address from the list: city, state, postcode, country, latitude and longitude all fill in at once. Or type every field yourself.

The suggestions come from our own mapping service, not from your provider key, so they work before you have connected Google or Mapbox — and they are limited to your shop's country, so your own street is not buried under matches from the other side of the world.

Latitude and longitude are what actually place the pin. If a pin lands in the wrong spot, correct the coordinates rather than rewording the address — the map only reads the numbers.

Photos

The first photo is the featured one: it is the large tile here, and the first slide on the storefront.

  • Drag a photo to reorder it. Drag one into first place to feature it.
  • Click a photo to select it; selected photos can be removed together.
  • The + tile adds another, from your Shopify files or a new upload.

Photos show on the storefront as a slideshow, with its arrows, dots, autoplay and how each photo fits set in Customize.

Contact

Website, email and phone, plus Facebook, Instagram and X. All of them are shown when a shopper opens the location, and each group can be switched off per locator in Customize.

Store hours

Either a saved schedule from Hours & markers, or Custom for this location's own week.

Use saved hours where you can. A hundred stores that keep the same hours means one schedule to change when those hours change, instead of a hundred.

On the storefront the list shows today's hours, and opening a location shows the full week.

Map marker

The default pin, one of your saved markers, or a custom image just for this location. The default pin takes its color from the locator's Pin color in Customize.

Filters

Tick the filters that describe this store — Wheelchair access, Open Sundays, Repairs. Type to find one, or add a new one from here; filters are shared across every location.

Which of them shoppers can narrow by, and in what order, is decided per locator in Customize.

Custom fields

Your own extra details: a manager's name, parking notes, a service list. The fields themselves are defined once in Custom fields; here you fill in this location's values.

A field set to a list of values gets a row per value, which you can drag to reorder.

Products

The products stocked at this location. Two things use them:

  • Filter by product — shoppers pick a product and see only the stores that carry it.
  • Products at this location — the products listed in the location's details, if the block has that turned on.

On a product page a locator can narrow itself to the product being viewed, so it shows only where that product is stocked. See Customize.
